Michael Moon

Michael is an experienced lawyer, accountant and business consultant, having spent the entirety of his more than 35-year career helping businesses solve problems, mitigate risk, and grow. As a Principal and Founder at Tax Assure for the past 10 years, Michael has dedicated his expertise to tax debt resolution, which has seen him build a reputation as a highly-regarded and compassionate advocate for individuals and businesses burdened by tax-related challenges.

During his time as a lawyer, Michael worked at top-tier and national Australian law firms, specialising in commercial disputes, insolvency and debt recovery. With the dual perspective of having pursued debt, coupled with years of negotiating with the ATO, Michael has the technical knowledge to design tax debt resolution strategies that ‘get to yes’.

Having also managed businesses himself, Michael understands the range of pressures facing business owners. This enables him to quickly understand what clients are facing, and think broadly about the possible solutions available to meet the needs of a business. Michael’s extensive network of advisors, including brokers, funders, accountants and lawyers, also enables clients to access additional experts to help achieve their desired outcomes.

Michael sees each tax debt situation as an opportunity to make a positive change in people’s lives by removing considerable stress and allowing business owners to get on with business, and instils this outlook throughout the Tax Assure team. Michael is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW, and is a member of the Law Society NSW and the Tax Institute, providing the continuing education to ensure he is cognisant of all the latest movements in the tax and legal landscape.
