Situation
An accountant approached us about their clients, a GP couple with a 20 year history of tax debt. He had worked with them to manage the capital debt and to get them to a compliant position with the ATO.
But he knew that the scale of interest and penalties – and the long-term nature of their situation with the ATO – required our niche expertise if he was to maximise the chances of getting the best outcome for his clients.
Solution
We prepared a detailed application for a remission of interest and penalties. We collected and collated a lot of documentation to support the application, and build the strongest possible case to the ATO.
We could not have been more delighted when we were told we had achieved a 100% refund, totalling over half a million dollars. It was truly a life-changing day for these clients.
